Goodrich's seafood restaurant Oak Hill Florida

When we got to Oak Hill for our fishing excursion it was Saturday evening at about 4:00 pm. By the time we got unpacked and settled into our cabin we were getting hungry!

My buddy told me a good spot to eat was Goodrich's Seafood.

He wasn't kidding. When er pulled up in front there we quit a few cars in the parking lot and when we went inside it was pretty much full with families. It was a nice evening so we decided to sit outside. Our waitress was very pleasant and gave us our menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. I ordered the fish sandwich and my son ordered Buffalo chicken sandwich and Mike ordered the all you can eat shrimp. All our dishes had more food than you could finish and was delicious. We ate as much as we could and were on our way. Here are some pictures of our meal.

Cabins at Mosquito lagoon RV Park

This was the view from our cabin at Mosquito lagoon RV Park. They are very comfortable trailers with everything you need for a fun packed weekend! Has a large deck on 2 sides of the trailer with steps that go down to a small dock. Also has boat ramp on property and slips to dock boat for night. There is a tiki bar on property with fireplace, TVs, and fully screen enclosed , to watch the game or have a meal with family and friends. No food or drinks for sale. Bring your own! Very laid back place to stay an you can't beat this view!

Everglades trip in June

My buddy drove down to meet me to fish one morning last June. We fished the 10,000 island area out of Everglades City. Although fishing was slow that morning he managed to get this  guy as  his first everglades trout. We were fishing artificials only and they just weren't biting, but he tied on a gold spoon and this was his reward. Caught a few the previous morning on Berkley Gulps which is usually my go to bait if the bite is slow. Seems to always wake them up!

Favorite Places to Fish or Just Relax in Florida



One of my favorite places in the

state of Florida, wether it be to just

relax or to fish is Everglades City!

Evergrlades city is in Collier County

and has a population of about 400

people. Very laid back, the way florida

used to be. The land mass is about .9 square miles but there is plenty of water and over 10,000 islands

surounding this quiet little town. There are a few small family owned retuarants and familly owned hardware/tackle shop in town.

The town's main economy is tourism and stone crabs.

This is the northern entrance to the Everglades National Forest, so they get a lot of anglers and hikers that want to enjoy what the evergrlades has to offer.

Living in the Fishing Capital of the World "FLORIDA"

I grew up on the Southeast coast of Florida known as "the fishing capital of the world". Growing up in a commercial fishing family I have done all types of fishing. Now I do most of my fishing inshore in the several estuaries and lagoons that we are blessed to have in our great state. With the occasional trip offshore for some of the best sail fishing, and bottom fishing known to man.

I have traveled all over Florida to fish in the many different areas and I would like to share some of my experiences with you. Inform you on what has worked out for me the best as far as tides, weather , baits, and times of the year. Also the best places to stay and eat on your fishing journeys. The best part about Florida fishing is we have so many different regions that we are always in the prime season for some species you just have to change up your fishing style a little. I hope you find my stories  interesting and maybe even a little educational.
